The Wilson Leadership Scholar Award recognizes Canada’s promising undergraduate students, cultivating their untapped potential and preparing them to serve as the nation’s next generation of leaders.
Three Wilson Leaders per year are selected as they head into their final two years of undergraduate study at McMaster, and receive a $50,000 award along with admission to an elite leadership development program.
Wilson Leaders win more than a cash prize. Immediately upon their selection, they join a community committed to excellence in leadership and character. This community is developed through the leadership development program, which is grounded by the following pillars:
Wilson Leaders will be paired with mentors selected to match their academic interests, leadership style, and potential career trajectory.
“Some candidates will demonstrate their promise through impressive track records of success, others through outstanding moral fibre or untapped potential. We are looking for natural leaders in any field—engineers and artists, intellects and athletes, introverts and entrepreneurs.”
— Peter Sharpe, President of the Wilson Foundation
